After paying for the gas, he tucked the briefcase behind his seat and eased the vehicle onto the street.

“Do you always carry around a spare change of clothing?” I asked

“I like to be prepared.”

“I never figured you for a Boy Scout.”

“Trust me,” he turned to gaze at me. “I’m not.”
